The Socio-Technical Context of Kampala's water chain
Dr. Bas van Vliet introduces the water chain in Kampala, which is exemplary of other cities in the Global South. He will show you the drinking water system and the diversity of sanitation systems in the serviced and unserviced parts of the city. Being one of the fastest growing cities in the Global South, Kampala’s water chain is a co-production of various users and providers, and it is radically different from water chains in the Global North.
