The main objects from the previous version of the Profession Profile include the following:
· Actualisation in accordance with present-day practice and needs,
· Clarification of the relationship with and differences between the three professions of imam, Islamic spiritual worker, and Islamic pedagogical worker,
· Taking into consideration of the role that these professionals can and should play in contemporary public debate about Islam and the criticism of Muslims in Dutch society,
· Highlighting the involvement of the mosques and its affiliated umbrella mosque organizations in the implementation of the training programme.
