Low-traffic neighbourhoods - Teacher version

This case study asks students to examine the arguments made for and against the introduction of low-traffic neighbourhoods (LTNs). Students are asked to read a journalistic article about the controversies surrounding LTNs in neighborhoods in England during the COVID-19 lockdown. From this, students work together in small groups to identify arguments for and against LTNs, considering the strengths of the arguments presented. After a discussion of these arguments, students should consider how they would decide on this issue, if faced with it as an engineer and/or as a member of the community.
