Introduction to Speech Analysis: Lesson 2

In this lesson, you learn about using acoustic visualizations (waveform, spectrogram, intensity curve, pitch curve) to support your own auditory perception, e.g., while transcribing and annotating speech. You practice creating multi-tier annotations that enable you to describe temporally overlapping phenomena - for instance, the ovelapping speech of multiple speakers, or other simultaneous events. You learn to measure the duration of a specific portion delineated from the speech signal. You also try running the first Praat script in order to efficiently measure the durations of annotated segments.
