This section introduces the concept of Global Ethics, offering a forward-looking, visionary framework for dealing with values in educational settings. It is part of the ValiDE Study Course and belongs to the preparatory materials for one of its ValiDE Online Course seminar modules. It is intended to help students develop an initial, personal pre-concept of democratic values as preparation for collaborative learning sessions.

Through a guided literature study of key academic texts, students critically explore various definitions and dimensions of values. This is complemented by the analysis of national curricula and other governmental frameworks, offering comparative insights into how democratic values are formally embedded in education systems.
